FAQ's

  • Will it hurt?

Acupuncture shouldn’t hurt. Some sensation when the needles are inserted is a good thing - often people feel a warm, tingling or pulling sensation.

  • Is Acupuncture safe ?

Rose is a member of the BacC and is fully trained, qualified and licensed as an Acupuncturist. We follow strict codes of safe acupuncture practice, professional conduct and hygiene standards and are approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

  • When should I come for acupuncture?

Acupuncture treats both acute and chronic conditions. It is an excellent preventative medicine but is also very effective once problems have started.

  • Are there any side effects from treatment ?

Given that every body is unique, responses can vary. There can be mild drowsiness, dizziness and occasional bruising or bleeding. These are very rarely significant.

  • Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Definitely. Rose was treated regularly whilst pregnant. Please do let us know if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant as this is an important factor in designing your treatment plan.

  • How many sessions will I need ?

This depends on the condition being treated and the wellness of the body as a whole. We would usually suggest 4 - 6 sessions to allow the body to adjust see progress. However, as weveryone responds differently, reviewing progress is an important part of our process.

  • What should I wear for my treatment ?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing is the best choice for allowing access for treatment and to maximise relaxation. Being able to easily expose your forearms and lower legs is helpful.

  • How much does a treatment cost ?

Your first treatment is £65 and involves a thorough consultation and treatment.

    Follow up treatments are £55.
